Residing in and revitalizing the South Slope District of Asheville, NC, the brewery began its life in summer 2013 as a one-barrel system that grew to a ten-barrel in just over a year.
Established in 2008, the Wedge is a neighborhood brewery with two locations in the heart of Asheville’s River Arts District. The Wedge serves as a gathering place for people of all ages and walks of life to laugh, exchange ideas and drink Wedge beer. The Wedge is a community crafted by the people of Asheville.

Hi-Wire aims to embrace their craft and be as independent and authentic as possible, while also managing to maintain an approachability to their product, as they feature highly drinkable hand-crafted brews. They are fortunate to be able to be a part of one of the Craft Capitals of the country. Located in Asheville’s “Brewery District”, Hi-Wire’s brewery and tasting room are within walking distance of six other local breweries in a few block radius. Offerings include Prime Time Pale Ale, Bed of Nails Brown, Hi-Pitch IPA, and Hi-Wire Lager.
Archetype Brewing Company began in 2016 as an idea, coming to fruition in early 2017. Founders Brad Casanova and Steven Anan bring background and experience from years of work in both Colorado and Western North Carolina. Highland Brewing was founded in 1994 by retired engineer and entrepreneur Oscar Wong, establishing it as the pioneer of Asheville, NC’s now booming craft beer industry. Annual production of around 46,000 barrels makes Highland the largest independent family-owned brewery born in the Southeast and it has the third-largest solar array in an American craft brewery. The East Asheville brewery is in a rehabilitated manufacturing facility on a hilltop, affording space for thousands of visitors to enjoy limited release beers, tours, and live music.
Brewing award-winning ales since 1997, Green Man was founded in downtown Asheville, originally as a brew-pub. New ownership and a fresh approach spurred evolutionary change at Green Man in 2010. With the help of the original brewer, John Stuart, and his team, Green Man has evolved into a respected and well-known brewery, known for consistent, traditional ales with a constant eye on quality.

Oyster House Brewing has a rather uncommon approach to brewing; the beer is made with oysters. Don’t let that scare you though; they have four other brews that don’t include oysters in the mix. But if you’re feeling adventurous, their Moonstone Oyster Stout is creamy and delicious, and a perfect complement to maritime cuisine. Which is great, since Oyster House’s brews are sold exclusively at The Lobster Trap alongside great, fresh seafood. Between the oyster-infused beer and amazing aquatic fare, Oyster House is sure to leave you with a unique and satisfying experience.

Located in Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewing proudly boasts year-round Pale Ale, IPA, Nitro Stout, and Tripel Ale in addition to seasonal offerings… all organic! It is also a popular local music venue, bringing in regional and national acts such as The Duhks and Velvet Truckstop.
Catawba’s third location opened on April 1, 2015, at 32 Banks Avenue on the South Slope brewery district of Asheville. The space is 5600 sq’ and hosts two distinct bar areas. The great hall has 24 taps and an indoor/outdoor space. The Rickhouse, or barrel room, has 5-6 barrel-aged beers on tap. In the brewing business since the 1990s, Catawba has established go-to brews such as Farmer Ted’s Cream Ale, and Firewater IPA.
Urban Orchard Cider Company is a local, family-owned hard cider production company and tasting room located in West Asheville. One of only a handful of “True Cider Bars” in the nation, their taproom and bar provide house-made, delicious, craft hard apple cider, guest bottles of hard cider, local beer, wine, and gluten-free/dairy-free snacks. Guests can expect to find at least three varieties of their own, naturally gluten-free hard apple cider on tap year-round, with a rotating selection of seasonal and experimental batches.
Twin Leaf Brewery opened in March 2014 in the burgeoning South Slope Brewery District. Their offerings include Uproot ESB, White Noise Belgian-style Wit, Dark Matter Oatmeal Stout, Luminosity Belgian-style Tripel, and their 144 IPA: a fruity, delicious summer beer. They also offer seasonal brews and small batches, which you can enjoy in their spacious tasting room with live music and food trucks.
Ben’s Tune-Up is proud to release Ben’s Beer! Because we are small-batch brewing, we are in the position to use the finest and purest ingredients—along with with our brewer’s creative skills—to produce some of the most unique and tasty beers you’ll find. Ben’s Tune-Up is located in the South Slope Neighborhood of downtown Asheville and is home to an urban beer garden, full-service restaurant, sake brewery, convenience store & Foothills Butchery.
UpCountry Brewing’s purpose is to make beers that perfectly accompany any outdoor activity. It’s how we share our belief that life is getting outside with family and friends. In our spare time, we hike woodland trails, bike gnarly hills and tease trout with the perfectly tied fly. We kayak our lakes and rivers, ski the back bowls, and play fierce games of disc golf.
